Church Programs

Our Church Programs are those that the Congregational Unitarian Church directly sponsors or organizes.

We try to “practice what we preach” with opportunities for spiritual growth, finding your own truth, serving the community, taking action in the world, and reaching out widely to other groups who we feel share our vision, as well as supporting each other as a church family.

Green Sanctuary – Contact: Margaret Fox Hawthorne , deals with environmental issues and matters of conservation and sustainability. Meets the 3 rd Sunday of the month following the worship service.

A Course in Miracles – Contact: Sam Jones , spiritual growth workshop, Sunday 9:00 a.m.

Sun City Group – liberal discussion group based in Sun City Huntley, meets monthly for discussion

Diversity Day - Contact: Patrick Murfin , annual Fall Peace and Justice event administered by the Peace and Justice Committee of the church. Celebrates inclusion and welcoming of all persons as equal residents.

Friday Night Salon – adult discussion held the 2 nd Friday of each month at the church. Managed directly by the church office.

Nippersink Nickel and Dimers – Contact: Meg Murray-Bradshaw , investment club open to church members who want to invest a portion of their savings for the benefit of the environment, social justice, or social welfare.

Yoga – Contact: Fusun Borelli , yoga class in the Hatha yoga style. Thursday 5:45 p.m.

Yoga with Jayson – yoga class held before Blue Lotus meditation. Saturday 8:30 a.m.

Circle Dinners – social dinners rotating at members' homes which are scheduled each fall/winter.

Adult Choir – Director: Tom Steffens , adult choir which rehearses Sunday morning prior to worship and performs on designated Sunday mornings.

Minister's Discretionary Fund – Contact: Dan Larsen , provides financial assistance to persons not eligible for other types of assistance.

Latino Outreach – Contact: Janet Sanchez , financial assistance and referral information for Latino persons, Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Ron Miller Seminars – meets twice a year for discussion of spiritual and political topics.

Men's Group – meets monthly for good food, discussion, and service to the Church.
